So looking forward to tomorrow when the door cracks open just a little and we can go out and be in the open again. Looking a little further into the spring, there is the exciting prospect of meeting new friends at the @charlestontrust exhibition of Nina Hamnett’s work this May. This sublime portrait (mood and colour) is of dancer Rupert Doone probably painted in Paris in about 1922 where both he and Hamnett lived in the early 20th century. In my recent exploration of British art, Nina has become a fascination of mine, both her work and her life are coloured in bright hues. I’m reading Alicia Foster’s lovely biography published by @eiderdownbooks - one of a series dedicated to modern women artists.
