Florence Dunbar Tending the Garden painted by Evelyn Mary Dunbar at The Cedars, Strood, Kent. 1938-9. Dunbar was the only woman working for the War Artists' Advisory Committee on a full-time salaried basis. She was not well know at all even though her pre-war output was prolific and well received. Much of her work was distributed to friends and family after her untimeley death at age 53. The Pallant House Gallery in Chichester mounted an exhibition of the newly discovered pieces and other works, Evelyn Dunbar: The Lost Works, from October 2015 to February 2016
