Christopher Williams view of Arthog, in North Wales, was painted around 1917.
Williams worked on more formal monochromatic portraits of the royal family, MPs of the day and the then Welsh Prime Minister, David Lloyd George. His landscapes however are much looser and more vibrant - this one typical of his style.
